Clarification

Atheism, in a broad sense, is the rejection of belief in the existence of deities.[1] In a narrower sense, atheism is specifically the position that there are no deities.[2] Most inclusively, atheism is simply the absence of belief that any deities exist. -Wikipedia.

Having had a reasonable depth of research into Theological and Scientific dynamics, I have heard all of the above definitions, and personally relate to the second and third sentences. More information on the matter can be found on the source page.

The term atheism originated from the Greek ἄθεος (atheos), meaning "without god", which was applied with a negative connotation to those thought to reject the gods worshipped by the larger society. With the spread of freethought, skeptical inquiry, and subsequent increase in criticism of religion, application of the term narrowed in scope.-same Wiki page. Bite me, too lazy to cite more sources. Hence, the definition of absolute denial is scholastically contended, and originates from theistic cultures, less applicable in current times.

So therefore, everyone's correct. yay.
